Rais Khan has also recorded for EMI India and the German Loft label.Įmotional depth, virtuosic instrumental skills, and a passion for melody have been combined through the music of sarangi player Sultan Khan.
On his mother’s side he is related to the sitar virtuoso Inayat Khan of the Imdadkhani gharana.
Born on December 25, 1939, in Indore, India, Rais Khan was taught initially by his father Muhammad Khan but was driven by his mother when it came to riyaz (practice).
